We Mothers are a band of courageous people. We are able to juggle our family, friends, work, hobbies, faith, etc. We are strong Mothers.
Getting my kids ready for school this morning, my husband had the (dis)pleasure of coming along for the ride. You see, it was parent teacher interviews at school and our appointment was at 9am. As I madly rushed around my kitchen, hair a mess, my dressing gown flapping around my heels like a mad woman's cape, I quickly issued orders (achem), requests for my husband to help so we would not be late. My husband assisted in a dazed (panic, why am I here?!) way, half helping (and sighing) and half wishing (and regretting) his mere presence, while I helped my children by making lunches, finding clothes, getting dressed, brushing hair and teeth, applying sunscreen, tying shoe laces, collecting up bags and, well, you get the point! Now I say, that takes a certain kind of strength. A strength of a woman's heart and mind. The heart loves the kids, so she takes care of them. The mind remembers to do everything and get them to where they need to be.
I love to photograph all types of women from all walks of life and celebrate their strength, their accomplishments and the many facets of who they are as people. I also love to capture the strength of the Mother Spirit - happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mothers!
